Brockville, Ont. – Niipaawi Strategies is proud to announce the launch of Creating Space, a series of panel discussions and subsequent podcast episodes focused on advancing economic reconciliation. Niipaawi will be working with the professionals at Story Studio Network to produce and deliver the live panels and podcasts.
The first season of this series will focus on “Opportunities in Indigenous Innovation” and will include four live panel discussions on different topics within the current Canadian economy. These discussions will then be produced into a series of eight podcast episodes, providing deeper insights and broader accessibility to these important conversations.
“Over the past two years, we have been having conversations with both Indigenous and non-Indigenous entrepreneurs and businesspeople in the innovation space trying to find ways to collaborate and to help Indigenous business grow,” said Cam Holmstrom, Principal with Niipaawi Strategies.
“We wanted to find a way to help people share their experiences and best practices, to help both Indigenous and non-Indigenous businesses grow and truly advance economic reconciliation. With Creating Space, we are hoping this can be a venue for those important conversations to take place.”
The first panel will take place during the week of March 17th, 2025 and will be available to watch live online for free. Subsequent panels will be held every two weeks, with specific dates and times confirmed in the coming weeks.
The panels will focus on best practices in Indigenous entrepreneurship, training, and employment in high-tech sectors, covering the following topics:
Panel 1: Engaging Indigenous peoples in Canada’s High-Tech Sectors
Panel 2: Indigenous engagement in the aerospace sector
Panel 3: Opportunities in emerging industries like artificial intelligence
Panel 4: Government procurement and Indigenous partnerships
The series will also provide an overview of key challenges while focusing on opportunities, featuring sectoral examples from both established and emerging industries, as well as initiatives arising from government procurement programs. The accompanying podcast series will launch in April 2025.
